Went to banks lake again and fished for bass for about 2 days only with 1 largemouth bass C&R. Used topwater frogs/mice and senkos in lots of colors. Also used a buzz bait through the reeds and grass. Got the 1 bass on a senko under one of the many weed beds in the punch bowl. Fished osbourne bay and jones bay with no luck. Saw some other bass anglers in there boats and they didn't look like they where having much luck also. Would have fished more but the lake is down 5-6 feet and has been the last couple weeks and its a real mud hole. Its down the farthest I've seen since the draw down last winter. And the SMOKE! wow! too much smoke in the area since I got there sunday night from all the fires burning. I fish banks a lot during the years and this time was so bad I came home early because of it. This morning was real bad at banks so I packed up and left. If you plan on going over to banks in the next couple days bring a gas mask! I think Iam done with banks this year for bass. Its was a very tough year for me with the bass. Frustrating! Anybody got any tips on banks for the largemouths this time of year? Please do share. Thanks!

Road beds deep. Devil's Punchbowl, deep off the grassy flats by the state campgrounds. Entrance to Devil's Punchbowl deep. The rock spirels in the bay north of Devil's Punchbowl and towards the hiway, you'll see the islands, there are under water spirels that you might run your boat into if the water is low enough, so you'll have to idle up to the islands, it's ALL rocks out there. In the railroad cuts that are deep. Off Eagle Rock deep, where the lake turns west to go around Steamboat if you're traveling southward. North end of Steamboat. Deep off the west side of Steamboat and south end. West shoreline south of Barker Flats-opposite Steamboat Rock. Deep off the rocks of Million Dollar Mile, and shorelines like that such as in the areas of the Airport Bays. Osborne deep out in the middle and closer towards the main lake. Deep up by the north end opposite Coolee Playland, the straight up and down verticle cliffs/rocks. I used 4 pound test line 'back in the day'.

@Amx Thats what I was thinking that there in the deep. they have to be. The Northwest Bass Championship Tournament is being held sept. 20-22. Well see how good some of the tournament anglers do. I will be curious.

I'm thinking they are still confused from the drawdown last winter and the low water still. I think someone said the water was still going up and down all summer. Is there any weeds on the flats in the Punchbowl?

Ditto for me, worst year ever fishing for all species at Banks, no more trips North for me.
