Howdy all,Had a few days off,so hauled the boat & the wife over to check out Potholes to do some Trout & Walleye fishin'. Heading over to Goose Island, rigged my wife's pole with a big white jig & half a night crawler,my pole had a re-rigged wedding ring spinner on it. Of course she gets bit first, really slammed the jig,was on for all of about 43 seconds then the leader snapped ! Dang ! Had no hits on my w-ring, while I was getting her stuff re-tied. The lake is about 25' lower then normal. Wind picked up & started having some problems w/ the outboard motor. So got back to the dock,& we drowned some n-crawlers before the rain almost drowned us,also. Next day dawned sunny & clear, then the wind kicked up again & did'nt want to chance takeing the boat out w/ the OB not runnin right. Caught a few small bass from the dock. Wedsnesday we headed over to Warden Lake & we're drownding more worms under floats when a local gent walks up on us & let us know the lake closed on Oct 1st ! Dang! So off to Moses Lake we're a headed, wifes enthusiasm for more fishin fun is waning a bit. So after messin around Moses Lake for most ofthe day we ended up at the visitors info center to get a map of the lake. While we are askin about the fishin, in walks a guy who tells us to go fish the " spillways " , said he saw a guy hook in to a 4 foot Brown trout, but of course the fish broke the guys line. Dang!So after getting three different directions to get to the "spillways" we finally find it off Sand Dunes Rd. Well to wrap it up , we did catch many small bass[released ] at the "spillway". The thought of that 4 foot brown swimmin around will definitly bring me back. Was a fun time, & a real good break from work !!!

That guy that said he saw someone hook a 4 foot Brown Trout either has quite an imagination or was drinking something pretty good. There arn't any four foot Brown Trout in Moses Lake or anywhere else.

The thought of a 4 foot brown would bring a lot of people out to try their luck. But I think it was a large carp. Good fishing
