Headed out to Long as I haven't winterize my boat yet, skeeters are meant to be fished not sit.
Goal was to see if we can find some of the large smallies, and largies Long is known for.
Air temp was 36 and water was 46. Great day caught some largies and the smallies we were after and of course feed the eagles some squawfish.

We wondered whether or not you were having any luck on Sunday and it appears you did. My buddy and I almost tried to catch some smallies but we were having to much fun catching all those crappies. Looking at the picture I have a good idea where you guys were, my only question is how deep? I would think this time of year they would be on the channel edge.

#Scotti509, my boy and I are having a blast fishing this late into the year, we have have caught fish we never thought we would catch, the only downside is paying Willow bay $15.00 to launch. I see you have done real well this fall and winter too, may be we will see you out there.

#CCTMark, We caught that girl in 14' of water on timber. We caught other ones but not as large as she was.
Going to try this weekend too.

We plan on being out there on saturday, hoping the crappie are still in a biting mood.

Jigking Fishead,
You can launch at the Riverside State Park launch for $7 w/ a Discover pass. I personally purchase a Wa. State Parks annual launch pass ($80) which will launch you at the river launch or 9mile resort launch 12 months from the time you buy it.

Scotti509, I thought 9 mile was closed now?

It is. What I meant was that the annual pass for $80 is good at both launches when accessable. The river launch isn't that bad. Just make sure you trim way up until you get into deep enough water. There's a map Avista provided at the ramp showing how to navigate past the confluence.

I don t know about anybody else but 15$ to launch is a deal especially if you are heading to that end of the lake! my boat would cost me more than that just to run up and back. Not counting the cold boat ride @ 60mph. lol

Part of the fun is the fast trip up lake. "Dancing Banana"
