Got up before sunrise, a little windy but no rain, headed to the lake which is just a little over 2 miles away, excited!! Read they planted some trips in Ballinger, had to give it a shot, arrived by 0715. As soon as I threw a line out, winds picked up and it started to rain!! Lightly at first, then came down hard, with winds coming from the south, it just looked scary, no end. By the time I threw my 2nd line out it was pretty fierce. I stuck it out for about an hour with nothing to show, except wet pants and cold hands, sweatshirt & waterproof jacket saved me. Did not see plants in schedule,...but the Times had it mentioned I think on Wed/Thur,...oh wells,...guess will try again later, probably Green where at least you can adapt to the wind,...

Ballinger does not gets plants of triploids, sorry. Blackman does, but the time is always a secret. It's the fishing club that stocks them, so there's no report when it happens. Normally it's sometime in December... but when, you have to scout. One day nothing, next week they are there... However, remember... because it's fishing club stock, the limit is 3 fish only regardless of size, but still only 2 fish can be above 15 inches...

I love Blackmans, just a little out of the way, but can be so worth it!! Will still fish here and there, spring plants should be decent by now,...Green Lake & the browns is so tempting also!!
