Arrived 7:30am left at noon. There is layer of snow (3-4"), a layer of ice, a layer of slush and finally a layer of ice 5" or so.Walking was difficult, breaking through to the last layer of ice. I was using small jigs tipped with Berkley Gulp (pink). I caught 13 - 14 and had on just as many. I broke off one large fish that was probably a large mouth bass. I did land a nice size 13" large mouth (he went back), 3 crappie all of which were to small (8"). I caught more smaller fish today. I finished with 7 keeper perch and bass (2 bass). Fishing was slow, with a lot of fish looking at the jig but not biting (Vexilar fish finder) which is frustrating. I still caught more fish because of the fish finder.

Thanks, good to know about the walking for sure. I want to take my grandson out, but it sounds like it might kill be getting on the water.
