Well today I fished for 3 hours and caught 2 Rainbows, one 13 inch and one 15 inch. This was not one of my best days but 2 fish were caught so thats why I gave it a 3. This was the first time in December or January I could have kept fishing after 2 fish because I had one under 14 inches (only 2 over 14 inches per day). But 2 O'clock came around and I had to go pick my son up from school so I called it a day. For some reason I am getting 2 fish every time and nothing more. but I usually only fish for 2 hours today 3. So that I dont bore everyone with all the little details I used the exact setup that I have been using in the last couple of post that I have done. I will probably fish again monday hopefully with something a little bigger to report. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I'm new to WA fishing wise and fish out of a Hobie Kayak. Would it be safe for a yak out there?

No ice on the lake. We dont usually get ice because there is so much boat traffic going back and forth to the island.
Russ Carver do you have a Duckworth? the name sounds really familiar did you used to moor your boat on American Lake?
Whitten1823 there is lots of kayaks on the lake and it would be a perfect place for it lots of water to cover. There is a couple people who fish from yaks out here already.

Mike,
Great job on catching the Trout!!! Gave it a shot Friday as well but was primarily trying to see if I could entice a Kok to bite. So I had one rod rigged for Koks and the other for Trout. Had a couple drive-bys but nothing more. For Trout, guess I should have been fishing closer to Bill's or Little American. I was mainly fishing the area between Silcox and the VA.

Kokanee_slayer were you in a white Hewes craft? I saw a couple boats out but did not know if they had any luck. I dont even waste my time fishing for kokes right now but come the end of march I will be in my boat with all the other crazies every morning. See ya out there.

Yep, that was me. But you know what, I caught my first "American" Kok earlier that this last year; love the challenge. I was actually marking a few on the finder and had a drive-by at about 50 ft. You are definitely nailing the Trout. I don't fish for them much anymore because once I started fishing for Koks, the wife got spoiled. Maybe we will meet up sometime. "Tight Lines"

This is the first year in probably 10 years I have fished in the winter but am kinda enjoying fishing without using a downrigger for right now. Once the Kokes start biting I will be out atleast 5 days a week.
