Launched at davies beach and about 50 yards from the boat ramp marked a huge school of fish, it was still a little dark so i passed on the fishing. ran out to the 100 foot line and dropped gear at 80 ft and 35 ft. marked a few loners at 45 and 50 so i set the down riggers at those depths. 5 mins later the deeps rod comes uncliipped, big throbbing headshakes, then nothing! using a purple hot spots dick nite flasher and a hoochie spinner. sent it back down to 55 ft. marked a few more fish around 50 ft so i kept switching outfits and finally the shallow rod went off with a wedding ring and a dodger, prob a 12" koke, i managed to throw my lunch box ontop of the net so in the middle of rustling around with that the little **** came undone. super foggy out today. fished until about 11:30. had a drive by at the 35 foot mark and one more fish on fish off by the areator thingy. heard some top splashes but didnt mark anything up high. back at the boat ramp i marked that school of fish again. sent a jig down and sure enough BAM! fish on, played c&r with a few little perchies. not a bad day on the water, seen some action. winter fishing is tuff with the fish all spread out in that big lake, ive heard the afternoon bite has been on point, lots of little bugs on the water so maybe monday ill hit it in the pm.
