After getting the idea that this lake was mainly a bait fishing lake I decided to prove that theory wrong.
Short Story: Theory stands!

Detailed Report: Got to the lake at 0815 and lines in the water at around 0830. One other boat on the water that was there when I got there and was still on the water when I left at 1100. Trolled the Gold Dick Nite the majority of the time to no avail. We trolled the main part of the lake with him on the opposite side the whole time. I didnt see much action from him. About the time I gave up trolling and started drop shotting a trout worm near shore in about 20-30' of water he was sitting still out in the middle of the lake and thats where he was when I left. A BEAUTIFUL day on the water. Glass calm and sunny, I thought this Washington in the winter? Where is the rain, wind, and cold?

Cranberry Lake get stocked every May.

I thought the lake was closed for fishing. I heard that the lake had e coli. from all of the geese that were there. I fished there all the time last year.

I was on deployment and got a email saying that it was closed, but I forgot about it. The DFW officer asked if I had any luck but didnt mention anything about the closure. I catch and release only so It doesnt bother me too much.
