After a weak morning of fishing at Lake Cambell, we launched in Cavanaugh around 1:45. This lake is great for Kokanee when it warms up, but the water temp of course today was 37 deg.!! Saw the usual suspects, (cutthroat) showing themselves on the surface. Although they weren't as present as usual, later in the year.
We trolled wedding rings, small spoons, large Rapala, Mack's fly/wedding ring thingy, etc.
Picked a couple of small cutts. pretty quick. As with every other time I've been on this lake, the cutts. are small, 10" and skinny with big heads. Nice colors though. The cutts. came on actually the large Rapala, and one on a small spoon.
Most of the action seemed to be in the middle of the lake. Went and circled the islands, nothing there to show. The large rain and wind came up, and headed back to launch. Won't come back here until the Kokanee wake up.
