I got out for a few hours Saturday afternoon with my buddy TJ to do some pre-fishing for this coming weekend's Bass tournament @Liberty. Fishing was even tougher than we expected with the exception of the trout fishermen who seemed to be doing great, catching some nice 3-4lb Brown's & Rainbows. We talked with 2 or 3 other Bass boats who were also pre-fishing & nobody was catching anything but trout. One guy said he got a Largemouth earlier that morning but I don't recall the details. The Bass guys' were catching the trout on jerk baits & the shore fishermen at the public access were using worms. With the weather going from bad to miserable & as we were just about to bag it for the day I finally got a bite. It was a little Largemouth maybe a pound or so. He hit a perch pattern X-Rap XR10. That ended up being our only fish, but I was still super pumped to get my 1st Bass of 2013. We tried a multitude of cold water tactics including: drop shots, shad raps, hair jigs, & jig & pigs (with actual pork trailers) but the wind really hampered our ability to keep a bait in the strike zone. I hope the Spokane Bass guys do better this Sunday, Good Luck
