What a beautiful day afternoon to fish Blackman's lake! Sunny, temperature in the upper 40's; calm wind. Arrived with my brother around 2:00pm and at Hill Park and found the right dock closed and the left dock lined with people. We took a spot about 30 feet from the head of the dock. Simply using red powerbait with about 2 feet of leader, I tossed the line just about 20 feet in front of me and about 30 feet from shore; just to get the line in the water. Wammo! Within 2 minutes I was playing what turned out to be a 2 lb 17-inch triploid. After netting it, a young man came over and weighed and measured the fish. Then about an hour and half later; I was onto my 2nd triploid; same size. Within an hour I caught my third, much smaller trout and I was done; with my limit of 3.
Many people were catching; some boys were catching trout using spinners from the shore between the dock.
Now is the time to get out to Blackman's and fish from the docks and banks before the water warms up and the fish return to the deeper parts.
