Been fishing Meridian a couple times the last few days. It is definitely starting to heat up. Had consistent action Wed. 3/27 and Thurs. 3/28. The fish are not big at all, but they are plentiful. Came home with limits 2 days in a row. The bow on the bottom was a fiesty holdover and put up a fun fight on the UL. Using 4/0 dodgers with wedding rings tipped with corn, flat-lined about 50 pulls from the boat. Action is not red hot, but got 2 limits in about 2 hours, so enough action to keep it interesting. Also, had a wake boarder making rounds on the lake today. The constant big wakes, loud music and jet ski'ers of summer are definitely upon us.
On a side note: I normally would not be happy about catching such small kokes, but I have a plan. Have read numerous places that kokes will all fight for a food source. The more fish fighting for the source, the smaller the fish. The less fish fighting for the source, the bigger the fish. My plan is to take these smaller ones out early, and hopefully the ones that are left grow nice and fat. Luckily my fishing partners wife doesn't mind cleaning/eating the smaller ones so they all get given and I don't have to clean them, bonus! Tight lines.
