Got to the launch around noon. Met Lou Smith and had a brief conversation with him while I was launching the boat. He told me that all the kokes were in the top 10'-15'. He said he was marking them while he was trying to get data for updated maps. It was nice to meet a fellow WaLaker. Got out on the water around Silcox and the wind was blowing pretty good. Marked a bunch of fish but couldn't get any interested enough to bite the lines. Made our way around the VA and did a couple of laps but couldn't get anything going. We finally had a takedown around 3 o'clock. Neither of us were really paying attention til one of the reels started singing. My gf picked it up and the fight began. After a few minutes, we had a decent 15" bow on the boat. Decided to change things up after that and headed to little american. Spent another few hours there but still got nothing. Overall, it was a good day on the water with all the sunshine. The gf was happy that she finally got a fish and I didn't (usually it's the other way around). Talked to another angler at the launch and they had some luck with bows, said they too were marking the kokes, but just couldn't get them to bite. I'm hoping that the kokes start to heat up soon. Tight lines.
