Well started out the morning as a kokanee trip to lake stevens, but quickly got blown off the water, so I decided to head over to see if Cassidy would be any less breezy. Upon arrival, the wind had died down and seemed a bit better, so we launched and setup to troll the lake for trouts. Marked tons of fish right off the boat launch, and had the gear out by mid lake, and then the wind picked up. We let the wind push us, and picked up two fish in the 10-12 inch range on the first pass, and then it got GUSTY and whitecaps started forming.

Long story short, I forgot to charge the battery, and didn't anticipate fighting such a gust, so the motor did not work as advertised and ended up rowing the rest of the trip. Dropped anchor in the shallows on the west side and soaked some power eggs, and picked one more up.

The wind got even worse, so we called it a day. Had a nice conversation with a guy in a float tube who also decided to fight the wind, and I did not envy him. He was heading to the launch as I was going out, and I almost thought I was going to have to pull over and give him a ride back to the launch, but he made it back before I could get back over. Way to ruin a day off, wind. All fish were safely released. Also had a follow from a largie on a crankbait. That would have been nice.
