With the weather Sunday looking to be only marginally better than the forcast for Saturday, 3 of us went out Sunday, in 2 boats. Since I was in an inflatable and arrived 15 minutes later, my friends got an extra 30-45 minutes extra fishing in, but we all did really well. I landed & kept 3 nice fat rainbows, and my friends got more than a dozen between them, all but 5 being released. As has been the case for us this winter, trolling a rapala has worked amazingly! Now the water's warming up, for some reason, 'flash' only seems to hurt, and so colorado or willow leaf spoons are forfitted. Also, the smaller sizes (5) seem best. A small split shot and a Gulp maggot or nibble on the hook, also seem to provide a specific target. One thing I have done with all my Rapalas I've used this way is replace all treble hooks with a single trailing #6 hook.

The weather finally hit, and hit hard, forcing me off a bit early. By the time I made it back to the dock, the boat and I were covered with a nice layer of hail. Still a very nice fishing day on a beautiful lake.

SoDakboy: I fish there often, and have been told it is relatively good for perch, but have only caught one myself, believe it or not, trolling a small Rapala. There are also crappie there, though I have only caught one of those as well.

Good to see someone doing good at leland. Sounds like the fish are further out in the lake. I've been a few times lately fishing from the dock and I've done okay, with a fish or 2 each trip but it's been pretty slow for me. Oh well, shouldn't be long till it's stocked again. Did great last spring when it was stocked. Oh, also You catch any cutthroat? Looks like there haven't been many around. I've only seen maybe 3 come out of the lake since they stocked it with the cutts in march.

Hey Blake!

Yea, I've been catching them down at the other end, though I have seen a number caught at the dock or along the launch. If you're still-fishing, power bait a foor or 2 off the bottom seems to be the way to go. I've been trolling and and doing quite well, 3-5 per weekly outing. My friend did catch one cutthroat but that's all I've seen too.
