Nothing like some smallies to get the skunk out of the boat! Too bad I could only find 2. The pic fish went 2.2lbs and was the biggest unfortunately. Got that one skipping shallow docks with a Yamamoto grub. Tried drop shotting out to 20 feet, even Lowrance fished for a while to the fish I kept marking suspended off the bottom but not a bite?. The more I ponder it the more I feel these fish are behind due to the weather? They are acting like they should've a month ago! Not normal for late April at all! Maybe the rain coming will turn them on since the temps won't be crashing this time?

I was only on the water for about 4 hours.

You are sure making the rounds of different lakes. I did that every spring a few years ago. Good job - keep it up before Father Time catches up with ya.

It's my belief that the cold rain the past weeks have shut down lots of bass. The water temps have fallen at least 5 degrees in the one lake I've fished this year, after the temps were slowly rising. Bass don't like the sudden drop. In three spots on the lake the fish that were cruising or suspending in 3 feet of water were all gone the other day. Of course it also depends on the particular lake, not all the lakes are the same, and the fish react differently in each lake. Be sure to take notes for further reference and compare them this weekend.
