2nd trip out this year. Got to the park and see they are making progress on whatever they are building at the launch.

Anyways, forecast said today may hit low 70s. When I got on the water at a little after 9, it was still 41 degrees. BBBUURRRRR.

I boated along my normal trolling path and didn't see anything on sonar or surface activity. So I blasted off towards the northern end of the lake where I had success on my last outing. As I near the point area, I saw a couple of fish jump in the area, so I figure might as well start trolling. Went with my usual setup.

10 mins in, I get a strike, but didn't stick. Then nothing for 20 mins and finally another strike. This one sticks. It's a chunky ~16" cutty. 10 mins later, I landed another 1, about same size.

I go on for about 20 mins and I start seeing lots of fish jumping around. I'm thinking I might be fishing too deep, so I reel in some line. 5 mins later, BAM! Fish on!

Started fishing from 9:45-1:30. Majority of the time, I was trolling for cutts. I did spend 45 mins trying to see if I could catch myself a bass with my new reel and a lipless lure. Nada on that.

I netted 8 trouts and lost 3 at boat side. 2 of the ones I lost. I could see they were barely hooked on the middle of the lower jaw. They swim funny when that happens. :o

Caught the majority of my fish on the north end. I was actually heading back in, but the water was calm around the middle of the lake. I saw multiple fish jumping around. Trolled for an extra 20 mins. Netted 1 and lost 1 at boat side. Then I didn't see anything happening, so I called it a day.

My best trout outing, quantity wise on Sammamish so far. Majority were 15-16". Biggest was about 17". Smallest was about 13".
