A few friends and I fished Lake Sammamish today. It was a bit windy but we almost had the lake to ourselves. We hit the water at 230pm. We put a couple lines in the water (just north of the weather bouy) and within a few minutes we had two Rainbows in the box. We caught six in that area and headed back south towards the launch. We caught two more nice fish near the creek and headed in at 630pm. All fish were between 14 and 16 inches. All fish were caught on needlefish between 5 and 10 feet on the downriggers. We saw several fish jumping. I'm thinking they may be chasing smelt. Great day all in all.

Indeed they are... Look a bit like rainbows but have distinctive red/orange slits on the underside of their mouths. Nice catch though!

Nice fish! You'll be happier they were cutts when you fillet them, good eating fish and better smoked!

Yes cutts indeed, and the fish they were chasing are the salmon smolt from the hatchery!
