Launched at the public launch yesterday morning and fished all day, even with the crazy weather. Didnt go more than 5 minutes without a hit, but lost a lot of the fish quickly. We ended up with 20 kept kokanee and 4 nice rainbows between 17 and 24 inches. trolling a red wedding ring behind a dodger on leaded line. It was a weird day to be on the water, seeing sun, rain, hail and snow as the day went on, when the weather got bad we just left the rods in the holder and kept catching fish.

oh and it looks like the loon lake kokanee are running smaller this year. the bigger fish we caught were 10-11 inches and the smaller ones we just put back, but they were feeding well so hopefully they will fatten up fast

Thanks for the report. How many colors of lead were you running, if I may ask?

I didn't pay a lot of attention to colors, as I just got line counter reels. But my counters were enterence 40 and 60ft all day, with a 6ft mono leader off the lead to a dodger and a longer than normal 18-20 leader to the wedding ring were the ticket. The big rainbows all came on the same setup.

Err, sorry my phone autocorrected "between" to "enterence" somehow.

i could have also included my speed i suppose. because we were going very slow. 1.3-1.7 depending on the wind, most of the other boats were going a bit faster than us, and not doing as well.
