Got to the 65th dock at about 1pm, set up with orange power eggs with a 6ft leader. After about 15 minutes my drag zipped a few times then settled down. Only when I reeled in a bit later to check my bait did I notice I actually did have a 11"er! It was bleeding so I kept it
Although, my fishing trip ended short. A guy was playing fetch with his dog, and it appeared to be caught in some fishing line snagged in a tree. I went over to help, and in actuality the dog had a treble hook spinner caught in its tongue. Thank god I had pliers and was able to jump in and cut the line from the tree. After a lot of commotion the guy got the hook out and rushed to the vet. It was a pretty gruesome scene and I didn't really want to stick around after.
Just a reminder to always clean up your fishing gear. I don't know who left the spinner there, but they probably just got snagged and didn't mean to. The trees around the shore are littered with snags so I would be careful swimming around there.
