Up early and launching my small boat onto Kitsap Lake at 6:00 AM from the WDFW access. Weather was heavy overcast with a hint of fog - And very cool. No one at the access area as I arrived but a couple of trout anglers showed before I launched. Bass fishing conditions were near ideal with no wind. I fished the entire west shoreline with only one hard strike on a jig - And I missed that fish. It was however a good morning on the lake - The black birds were singing and no power boats were on the lake. I had a thermos of hot coffee and a couple of toasted English muffins. ( I had left home before any breakfast). Before I left there were several trout anglers on the lake - One reported some success. I checked out the Kitsap Park on the SE corner of the lake and a few trout anglers were using the fishing dock. They hadn't caught any.
