Got on the water about 7AM for my first trip of the year. Weather was overcast and water was dead calm most of the day. Nothing til 10:45 when I put a beautiful 3 1/2 lb in the boat. Fifteen minutes later, a 2 1/2. Weights are approximate as I didn't have a scale with me but they're pretty close. Had a couple of other strikes that should have been fish too(my bad). The fish I caught were strong, beautiful and pre-spawn. Both fish came on a 5" Senko. Fished til about 1PM. I think this lake is about ready to explode. I don't know the lake and it's a hard one to locate fish because every inch of shoreline looks good. I hope to get smarter as I go along. All in all, it was a pretty fair day and I had some fun.

I'm wondering which area of the lake is most productive. I caught my fish on the east side, 2/3 of the way up the lake. You know now it is. They turn on for a while, then nothing for a while. As far as I know, they were turned on all over the lake. I tried to keep the spawn in mind while I was searching. Thanks for the response. Any ideas?.....Frank

Thanks! I thought that was the best area too. I probably hit it too early. I'll work it harder next time.
