Got to the lake around 9:00pm and set up for some channel catfishing. This little lake is open year round and some of the biggest cats are caught here. I used to go all the time and catch between 10 and 15 cats in a night from the shore. I only caught 2 this time and had several other nibbles but nothing of size. My stepfather caught a 15lb one last year and lost a whole pole because one of the monsters took off with it. The pole that he lost was held down by a full box of Duralogs too. This little pond is a well kept secret outside the town of Mossyrock. There are Largemouth Bass, brown bullhead, rainbows, cutthroat, bluegill, perch, sturgeon 42" or 44" min, and of course a 20" min on the channel cats. Please catch and release and pick your garbage up before you leave. Oh by the wayelectric motors only. Best bait for cats: Nightcrawler or rotten chicken liver....chicken liver is the best as long as you can cast far from the shore.
