Had to get back out there this morning. After going out yesterday without my scale, and hooking into what I thought was my 4lb goal… I had to go back and try to vindicate myself. Scale in tow this time.

Changed up to a bigger 5” hula grub, casted out deep, and slow rolled it back in….. then BAM! I set the hook and could feel the weight immediately. Almost felt like a snag until the head shaking started. I knew this was it. Great 40 yard fight in with drag singing.

I FINALLY DID IT!!!!! 4lbs 13ounces!!!!! Whoohoo! The big payoff I’ve been looking for. Thank god.

I did a little dance…. Calmed down… and decided to throw one more cast before committing myself to my cubical for the day.

I’m glad I did, because I snagged another one at 3.2lbs.

Best day fishing I’ve ever had! Now I gotta spend some time on the home lake (Sammamish) before Fishingfool puts me to shame.

I have a video of the releasing the big one I will try to upload today. My apolgies for the "mug shot", Logan Little taught me how to smile.

Tight lines!

Logan Little? Not familiar. Unless.............the Logan you speak of, is a member? In the picture, you look as pissed as the fish! Nice couple of fish by the way.

I look pissed, because I was fumbling around trying to take the picture without dropping my Iphone in the lake, or drop the fish on the dock. I think I have the hang of it now, so I hope thats my last mug shot of the year. I swear im more excited than I look. :)

Here is a quick video of me tossing him back in the lake. I need to get a gopro or somthing so I can record the catch instead of just the release. [url] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJWomnDS1Dg [url]

Congrats on the 4 lb mark. I've did it three times; once on Lake Sawyer, and twice on American Lake, the biggest being 4-12. Never have broken the five pound mark. I swear, smallies look twice as big as largemouth when fought and brought to the boat--something I'm quite sure you're aware of. Good job!
