After a slow morning at Martha lake, I retreated, re grouped, and headed to Tye with a buddy for the evening bite. I had never been here, but have heard some great rumors of large trout. We set up on the West side of the lake, and threw power eggs out, and DEEP! In the mean time while my chartreuse power eggs were picking up a consistent fish in the 12-13 inches, and missing bites, I had my other pole with worm and bobber. Saw one bobber down, then switched to a panther martin and other gear. Picked up a small 10 incher, and missed many bites on flatfish. As it started to get dark, I get a hit, and begin to reel. My buddy had only missed one fish at this point, and caught non. I get a hook set and let him reel it in. About 10 feet from the bank it begins to really fight and I realize this was not another 13 inch trout. He hauled in a thick meaty, beautiful red meat 18inch rainbow. His slump was over and hauled in a couple more before the night was over. Overall was very pleased with the size and quality of the larger 13, 14, and 18inch bows.
