Took my daughter to the larger of Gessberg Twin Lakes. First 20minutes fishing off shore caught an 11 inch rainbow trout. Daughter realed him in for me & did an excellent job! Then... BAM... downpour. Serious rain for the next hour (which I continued to fish through after making sure daughter was set up in a dry cubby hole with warm hands). No more bites though. When it cleared was when we had to go. Lots of little tiny jumper fish. One fella was out paddling around the center in a small one man floating boat & we watching him catch two fish. Seemed slow fishing but it may have been the weather. The trout was nice & healthy & we enjoyed him for dinner already! Worm & bobber was what got him. I also cast out a blue fox a few times with no action & out of curiosity, put out a sinking hook with a smelly hotdog (and bobber on top) to see if a catfish would take interest. No bites on it.

Just FYI- this lake is "Gissburg" in the reports, as opposed to the alpine twin lakes. Different lakes, same name.

yea, had a day like that today ... nice sized trout within 10 or 15 minutes, then nothing after that ... girlfriend caught a nice sized bullhead hiding under a tree stumb a foot away from the shoreline, lol... but yea, second time fishing this lake... notice a lot of people just sitting around for hours, watching their rods and waiting ... doesn't seem like a lot of action at this lake or just my bad luck... I've used buzz baits, spinners, gulp leeches on carolina rigs, grubs... nothing on any of those... dying to catch a bass but no idea where to go to catch bass from the shoreline.

Dan Boone! thank you! I realized I miss-named it after I posted a second time and put in the correct name of Gissberg the second time I posted but I don't know how to fix this post... :/

Juan, my best luck catching trout on this lake was to be in the middle of it on a boat. I've caught a few off the shoreline and it pretty much seems like luck of the draw. I have had similar experience with using different lures. It seems (from what I have been doing) that this lake is a traditional worm and bobber kind of lake... which is sitting around watching the pole and knowing how to tease them a little until they give a good bite. I'm not sure where to find the bass in here. There are not a lot of docks or indents for them to hide in so I would guess they'd be more on the backside of the lake where it is mostly very bushy. WHERE did you find the catfish and what bait were you using?!?!?! I want to catch one out of there!!! The last time it was stocked with catfish was in 2011 so they must be starting to get good sized. How big was the one you caught?
