Headed out to Cottage Lake early this morning, got there around 5AM, before the gate opened. Headed out to the dock for a nice morning on fishing, even caught my first trout of the season :)

Weather was cool (48 degrees according to the truck) and cloudy. Very little wind. Pretty quit for the first hour, then a few other folks started trickling in. Got to see a bald eagle swoop in for the kill and catch his own fish which was pretty awesome.

On to the fishing part...I was using a 3-4 foot leader with a slip egg weight trying pink power bait worms on the hook. Nothing, not even a nibble. Then, lucky for me a guy showed up and gave me some tips.
- longer leader, 6+ feet
- using the pink, or white, power bait eggs
- cast it waaayy out in the middle of the lake from the dock.

Wouldn't you know it, boom! Nice trout, fish on. Managed to get him on the dock and snap a few pics. Thanks for the help.

All in all a good morning, everyone I spoke to there was very friendly. Going to head back soon.
