Went to Liberty Sat morning to experiment with the new iPilot for the trolling motor. The cruise control and GPS guidance features worked great and were easy to use. When the water was calm, they kept the boat within ± 5 ft of the intended direction and ± .1 MPH from the intended speed (as good as I typically do manually, with a lot less effort). When the wind and waves picked up around 9:30, directional control widened to ± 10 ft and speed deviation increased to ± .2 MPH, close enough for me... and I didn't fall in the lake, so the day was a success. I did have a couple lines in the water and over on the South side West of the park, I landed a couple small but nice trout. The first one hit a flatfish and came flying out of the water - I thought it was a giant ... just a noisy little fighter. The second rainbow hit a double whammy - nice but more subdued than the first. On the way back to the launch - a large crappie hit the whammy off the North shore.
