My wife and I hit the Bonaparte Lakes area outside of Tonasket earlier this week. I fished Beaver from the boat ramp starting around 6:30 in the morning. Fished cast and retrieve using a 50/50 Wee Dick Nite tipped with a baby crawler. Second cast had one on but I didn't set the hook well and only saw a splash of silver as it spit the hook a few feet from shore. A few casts later I landed a beautiful Bow around 2 lbs. I got to watch a HUGE bald eagle swoop out of a nearby tree and nab a fish of its own but dropped it on the way back to its perch. Spent about another 10 minutes casting and managed to land a fat Brookie, weighed in at about 2 1/2 lbs.
Hit Lake Beth on the kayaks with the wife later in the day and did some trolling but the time of day wasn't good for the fish. Oh well, we still enjoyed the weather and tranquillity drifting on this beautiful little lake.
