Started fishing around 10:30, we started fishing off of the VA. Caught a small trout in the first 15 minutes then nothing for the next hour. Caught another small trout about 11:30. We were fishing small dodgers with hoochies and wedding rings in red, green, and yellow using corn and Berkley white maggots. One downrigger line and one surface line, both trout were caught on the downrigger at 25-30ft. Right at noon we had one very large fish on the surface line that we lost and shortly after that we had a large Kokanee on the downrigger line that put up a good fight and eventually pulled the hook off the line. I hooked the Kokanee on a green Mack's Cha Cha kokanee hoochie. Really disappointed in the poor knot that came from the factory on the Cha Cha hoochie (it was the first time using the lure). I will have to retie the hooks from now on. We tried a couple other areas on the lake but the boat traffic and jet skis were pretty bad so we called it a day around 2:45. Overall we had fun and hooked into some good fish, I will come back to this lake again for sure.

Thanks for the report! You may want to try Little American when the boat traffic gets bad. It is only about 40' at the deepest but no skiers and some nice rainbows back there. I have never caught a kokanee there but again, peaceful and has some nice fish; just be careful going through the channel to get there as it only about 5 feet deep as you go through.
