Me and my dad head up to loon to fish for largemouth. We started out in the canal right near the launch and didn't even touch a fish. We decided to make a move over to Loon island, and started to catch some smallmouth. We caught a couple small fish on grubs, and my dad nailed a couple decent fish on a wacky rigged senko and dropshot. I nailed a couple on a wacky rig before we made another move to a different bay. Soon after we arrived, my dad hooked and lost a decent largemouth. The fish were hard to find and were in 10-12 feet of water. We caught a couple more small fish on senkos before moving again.
After we arrived at the next spot, something kind of interesting happened. I had my rods fanned out on the deck with a jig and pig hanging six inches in the water. A largemouth came clear up to the boat, grabbed it and took off! It was kind of funny. We caught a couple more descent fish on crank sits and senkos before calling it a day..
I don't know if the fish have spawned yet or not. They were all deep, like they had just spawned, but we could not find any bass beds! Any input would be nice.
