Fairly new to the State of Washington but not really new to bass fishing. That said, I'm no expert but I've been skunked for the most part (my one and only bite was from a small largemouth threw my hook) since moving up here until I got a good tip from Islandbass to try Lake Union for some smallmouth.

Took a trip up to Lake Union Monday with my girlfriend, who is new to fishing, to get her on her first bass. First cast out for the both of us, with me trying to show her how to fish a drop shot rig and she catches a dink smallmouth while I hook into a "larger" one. It was the perfect way to start the day for sure. The rest of the day was ok, caught 5 fish total with none being bigger than the first one caught by me. Not bad for a quick 4 hour trip.
