In a few weeks I have a club tourney, so I figured I better do some pre-fishing. It was my first time on the lake, plus I had my kids. I launched at the park in Issaquah and ran north. My buddy was supposed to meet me in his boat also, but no-showed so I pulled into a spot with some trees to swim with the kiddos.
when I got close I noticed a creek with good flow, so patiently swam with the kids, eyeballing the stream. Finally after about an hour I was able to tie up and cast. I threw a Carolina rigged lizard in black and first cast caught one, an ounce under 3lbs. There was another one that was bigger which followed, almost until I lipped her. That was the only fish I caught though. I have my kids drop shot night crawlers and they keep me too busy to fish. Between putting on worms and unhooking perch, I run around like a mad man. Then we swim for a while and catch more perch. Not much for pre-fishing, but I marked a couple spots on the graph.

I got tired of ripping out hooks from all those perch so I bought some circle hooks. The fish basically hook them selves, and about 99% of the time are lip hooked. I haven't tried them with power bait, but I assumed I would have the same result.
