Ran out to Hayden Lake this morning (Sun 7/28 - couldn't get the calendar on the report to work). Water was 73° and the air warmed up quickly, just a bit of a breeze, lots of trailers in the parking lot @ 6 am. I trolled around Chicken point. Downriggers started with one at 35 feet and the other at 50. Got a hit on the 50Ft side and missed 'em. Reeled in to check the corn and found an eye hanging off the pink Apex - sorry about that. Lowered the other side to 60 Ft and got another hit in about an hour. Landed a 1 lb 12 oz 16.75" on a custom made double whammy - a person record for kokanee. Missed another one and then landed a 14 incher. Called it a day @ 9:30 to make it home in time for church. Great morning on the lake - one for dinner and one for the smoker.
