You can cross off smallmouth on the fishermans bucket list. That is a guaranteed bragger.

Biggest I have seen ever posted on here. Dont trust the hand scale. Firm up the weight.... State record is 8.75 I think.

That's a GREAT fish.

Yup, 8.75 = 8 pounds 12 oz.

Also the year that the Smallie, as well as the year that the Largie as stated on that records page is incorrect. The Smallie was caught in 1966 and the Largie was caught in 1977. I just called the WDFW and told him and he double checked on his sheet and yes the web page is wrong on those years. :-)

That is by far the largest smallmouth I've seen taken from American, and I've fished it a lot. Congrats!

Just so you know you don't have to take the fish to get a mount anymore just take measurements and a pic. its good to leave the big girls in there but on the other hand way to go

Bass kickin It was an all out effort to save this fish unfortunatly the #6 bait keeper hook was lodged deep and in a very bad place and unfortunatly she would have made the death spiral to the bottom. Spent the better part of a half hour trying. I relaesd a 19.5 in last week and worried sick he made it ok. Dont need the meat and love to see them on the beds in the spring but this one had to pass but will look very alive on my wall.

Judging from the background in the photo, it looks like you were fishing off the front side of the island to the right of the boat launch. Drops of steep there. Haven't caught many smallies there, but when I did they all were big, with the biggest being 4-3, which was just off the building that's built to look like a tug boat.
