Two buddies I don’t get to fish with a lot were able to come with me Sunday, took them to Meridian to hopefully have faster kokanee action then could be expected on Angle. We weren’t disappointed, Meridian continues to fish well! When my friend dropped his line the first time that morning the rod immediately started bouncing! Since he doesn’t fish often I had to inform him that was a bite/hook up, he gave me a dumb look like “that can’t happen already” and wasn’t moving toward the rod, so I “encouraged” him to get the rod out of the holder and line out of the clip but by the time he came around the fish was gone. Good times, was pretty funny! We were on the water around 8:30 and limited out by noon. DN dodgers and small pink wedding rings baited with corn/pink maggots caught all the fish, all fish came between 20-25’ on the downrigger. We hooked up all over the lake but ended up concentrating on the end closer to the park/launch as they seemed to be most concentrated in there. Love putting my buddies on fish, great feeling! Now they want to get out more! Average size was 11” with a few pushing 12”, nice fat fish. It’s going to be a tough choice the next few weeks…pinks or kokanee, pinks or kokanee. Can’t think of a better problem to have! Tight lines all!
