I got on the water at about 10 am. I went to the north end of the lake and fished around the creek mouth and the basically the whole end of the lake. I was catching 4" - 6". They would follow the bait right up to the boat on each cast. There must of been hundreds of them. After that I tried several other spots with the same results. I was using 4" perch colored rapala, shad rap, and tiger glow rapala. I was told by a friend that fishes the lake a lot that these worked good for him. After several hours of that I switched to a white and grey spinner bait with willow leaf blades. The first two casts gave the same results. On the third cast I decided to let the bait sink a few feet then retrieved normally. I was watching it come up and just a few feet from the boat a nice bass struck. I got it in and it weighed 2 lbs. Tried a few other areas and got a 1.5 lb. Around three the fishing started to get much better, but the weather turned. I decided not to risk getting caught in a squall on the lake. Over all I had a good time at the rock.

Sounds like the LMB had a better then normal spawn this year, or maybe last year. The browns will love eating those 4-6" LMB this fall. LOL

I find the larger LMB are either had at night at Rock or down about 20 feet during the summer. I hope that helps.
