Went to Meridian this morning. 1 hr, 10 min drive. Ugh, lol.

I launch the boat and I can't find my keys to the boat...... I'm 99.9% sure I left them on my rear bumper when I removed the lock to hitch up.

Fortunately, I have a spare for the ignition and hitch, but I don't have a spare for the rod locker...... I'm pretty sure it would have been easy to use my electric motor only if I had too. I drove all this way, no way I'm turning back to backtrack if that's even possible.

I still have access to 3 rods. 1 med spinner, 1 med baitcaster, 1 HD baitcaster.

2nd cast in, I had a big school of about 20 LMB ranging from 10-12" chasing my crank. 3rd cast in and catch one. Caught several on the crank. Then caught several on a dropshot, same school I believe.

I get a 12" SMB in a little bit deeper water.

1st hr on the lake, it was glass smooth. I could see EVERYTHING 6' or less.

I notice the ripples forming at the far end of the lake and it was coming towards me. :(

I cut off my DS combo and started skipping a senko under the docks. I lured out a large LMB, guessing in the 3lb class, but it wouldn't bite. Did a couple of follow up casts, then got snagged under the dock. Sometimes when I skip, it bounces too high off the water and gets caught up on whatever is under the docks. :( Need to practice skipping.

Tried practicing skipping with my baitcaster. I was doing ok. Couldn't get quite the distance I wanted, but I could get it deep back in there. I just have to do it close to the dock... :(

Some old lady was talking to me from her dock asking questions about fish. I got distracted and got a minor birds nest but I couldn't get it untangled. I had to cut some line. Haven't done that in a long time.

I caught 2 more stick fish today. 1 on a DS and 1 on a Hula. The DS one was at least 12'. But very thin. Hula one was only about 5' or so, had no problems bringing that one to the boat.

Caught a few more small SMB on the DS and Hula. Called it quits at 12:30PM.

Besides losing my keys, flashlight, and my Boating card. It was a nice day to be out on the water before it got too hot. Lots of little fishies.

Where's that Chinook when you need more stickfish planted? lol

That's a quick recovering of unfortunate happenings. :-)

Trying to find my keys = story of my life. (Curtsey of I-502)

At what length do stick fish enter into the "trophy" class? 7'+?

I would say 10'. I'm an expert.
