Friend of mine and I went out to Silver to try fishing for Rainbow. I had never been on the lake and he had been one time so we wanted to try something new. We fished Lake Roosevelt Saturday with only one Smallie and one Rainbow in a couple of hours.
We launched by 7:30am Sunday morning on Silver and trolled west side of lake for a couple of hours with no luck.
So we decided to hit the East side of the lake for Tigers and Bass.
We fished for a couple of hours with Spinners and Senkos.
We caught 3 largemouth. One was really nice at 3.2 lbs.
The others were much smaller in 1-2 lb range.
Was a little windy but what an awesome day.. Probably the last nice day like that.

Hate to say this but Silver lake in Spokane county has not been managed as a trout lake in many years. As a kid some 35 years, ago Silver was the lake to catch your limit of 12 trout in just a few hours. Those days are gone thanks to Bucket biologists and lake residents who do not want the lake treated. I fish Silver year around and have found the lake to hold Primarily Blue gill, Large mouth Bass, Crappie, Perch, and Tiger Muskie. I have also caught a couple of what look to me to be red eye tinch or weird greenish looking carp. Silver May still have a few Big Browns and maybe a few rainbows but I can not help but think The Tiger Muskies have made short work of them by now. I fish this lake a lot and have not seen anyone with a trout in a long time. It has been an excellent fishery for Blue gill and Perch the last couple of years though. With that said, I think the Perch population has been hit hard by ice fisherman and the Muskies. I will not be surprised if the perch fishing is a bust this winter. I would love to see a few more game wardens on the ice out there this year I think they would be very busy dealing with violations.
