Was torn on where to fish today but got a call from my buddy in Longview who wanted to do our annual trip to Lake Scanewa to chase some of the coho's they have been dumping in there. It is one of the most peaceful lakes I have ever fished with an 8 mph limit that most people respect and usually get a lot of folks that just use electric trolling motors to troll for these guys. Craig wanted to use his drift boat which we plan on taking out this winter so needed to get the cobweds out of it and hopefully put some blood on the floorboards! haha
I left Seatac in a heavy fog at 5:30am and got to Spiffy's at exit 68 by 7am to meet Craig and were a little concerned as the fog was a thick as pea soup but started the journey East on highway12. It was foggy most of the way but just as we were getting the lake it started clearing up and by the time we were on the water we were in store for just a beautiful day on the lake.
Now I wish the fishing would have been better as we tried every plug we have used before but to no avail. Didn't see too much action but one little Livingston tore it up and had 4 silvers with one that looked over 12 lbs! But what a great day to spend with my buddy and was I amazed when I got back to I-5 to find it still very foggy and found out from my daughter that it had been fogged in all day and cold in Seattle so was happy we had chosen to give this a try today and got a great shot of a Herron looking for a snack as well. I will include if I can find it on my computer some fish we caught last year here.
