Had an hour to kill before sunset so I was off to Greenlake. Saw one guy trolling in his kayak while I set up my rod. The plan was to hit the east side soaking some roe off the bottom In search of the browns. Within 15 minutes, WHAM! My bell starts jingling but I was too late, fish just mouthed my roe and spit it out.
Another 15 minutes passes, same thing, spits out the hook
Another 15 minutes, again spits it out before I can set the dang hook!
This time I was determined to get this fish so I kept rod in hand. Bell starts jingling and I set the hook without even bothering to remove the bell. I guess fourth times the charm! Turned out to be a pretty good sized bow, about 15 inches. This one was a bleeder so it was coming home with me. I don't think this fish would have lived long anyway, its belly was full of twigs and bark with a few pieces of gravel... I give the day a 4 for the abundance of action in the little time I was there.
