I arrived on the north east corner of the lake around 10:30. set up #1 plunk bait, 2 to 3 1/2 ft leader various power bait/eggs, Corky/ shrimp, roe, single cured eggs caught nothing all day. Set up #2 various plugs and crankbaits. Casting towards shore from the northeastern dock I got my first hit on set up #2 silver lipless crankbait, cotton Cordel. I saw it roll on it, I set the hook, pulled it out of it's mouth. It was a German brown in the 20" to 22" class... It was awful seeing what I just lost.. About 100 casts later still no fish so I moved on the the west side dock, where I met some WA lakers, and other interesting people, I did get 1 hit on the bait rig ( I think) but nothing to show for it. After 2 hours or so I moved on towards the amphitheater, still nothing. I through everything but the kitchen sink. And had 1 for sure missed hit all day... Id say the water needs to cool down a bit more before the browns get active

Love it.. Big Brown hitting the aggressive bass bait.
Green lake feels like a slow start this winter on the Browns. I float tubed it last week for 2 hours. Felt like a popcicle without a single hit.
Some great fish in there, as you now know,

i've been there several times. 2 winters ago i caught plenty of nice ones and had hooked several in the mid 20" range that had to be pushing 5 lbs. getting them hooked is 1 challenge. keeping them on is another far more difficult challenge. the big ones are smart and will barrel role like crazy while jumping and shaking when they start to get close to shore. keep at it and good luck. the green lake browns are the fish of thousands of casts.
