took on sullivan lake last night for the first time ever. all in all id say it was a good experience. we were able to catch 2 of them brought a few up off the bottom but lost them. had bites none stop from about 6pm to 8pm in 35 feet of water but the down side of all this is the fish we caught were about 10 in and very skinny. the bites we were getting all seemed like small fish also. is this usual for sullivan or is there some good fish in there.

Years ago there were some pretty good ones in there. I'm not sure I've ever seen one that small. Dunno about recent years.

I haven't fish it for about five years but I have got them from 12 " to 10 pounds. I would start in 100 feet anchor and move in 15 to 20 feet at a time I would end up in 30 feet of water sometimes before I was done. My best fishing was out in front of noisy creek. Always fished from my boat hope that helps good luck.

No! But I have heard of that happening before. I would say you just found a school of young ones. I have caught small ones to the 8lb class. Average is normally 3lbs. I do know the locals know where to get the bigger ones.

I haven't fished the Burbot up there, but I have fished the kokanee, some rainbows, cutthroat, and my buddy even caught a 5lb. tiger trout there. Supposed to be some big browns in the lake too. I heard that the burbot can be caught off the first rock point up on the right side of the lake from the south end boat launch.....but again, I haven't fished it for them yet. Have at it and good luck!
