Took some time to fish Sammamish with my old fishing partner, the famous Dr. Spratley. Main purpose for the trip was a shake down for the 8 horse Honda and a chance to see if we could get a fish on the end of the good doctors new custom made spiral guide freshwater downrigger rod. Happy to report that both the Honda and the rod worked great

Fished from about 8:30 to noon and managed to boat 4 nice cutties, released two and a couple drive by, s as well. Fished from 18 to 27 feet deep on the wire using needlefish, hootchies and wedding rings. Wedding rings tipped with a chunk of crawler were preferred meal today. All and all a good outing and great to be on the water with my old fishing buddy after 25+ years. The good doctor boated the big fish of the day at 18 inches. The rest were in the 16 inch range.

Thanks for the report! I've taken the "Adorah Jane" out on Washington, but have been hoping to try Sammamish soon! I appreciate you sharing what you were using and what was working for you! Curious about whether they've fixed the pay station yet as I heard that was out and causing some fishermen concern!
