Spent the holiday off from school hitting up Moses Lake for the first time. Spent the first part of the day wandering around chopping random holes which yielded no fruit. Then I found a group of drilled holes from the day before and the bite was on! I caught 13 perch and everyone was a keeper ranging in size from 8 to 10 inches. They were fatties too. I also hooked into about a dozen walleye, but they were all dinks. Not one was over the 12 inch minimum. The closest was almost there at 11.5in, but most were more like 6in. Had a great day on the ice! Was vertical jigging a silver swedish pimple tipped with perch eye. Also, the bite did come in waves. I would catch two or three within a minute of eachother, but then not much for about 15-20 minutes til they would hit again in groups. They must've been moving up and down that line I was on. Oh, and the ice was still a good 6-8 inches thick most everywhere, but there were a few spots that had open water... Be careful!

that's a good days fishing. where did you get on the ice? I've never been to fish there before. Are there quite a few places to access the lake?

They did taste great! I was out just north of the I-90 bridge next to Blue Herron Park. As far as other places, I don't really know... this was my first time fishing Moses.

Nice report. I live in Yakima and all the ice around here is unsafe. Glad to see that there are still opportunities for the ice fishermen. Most people access the lake north of the I90 bridge at Blue Herron Park. Mae Valley Road exit off I90. Again, great job and tight lines!
