Checked out hidden lake since I haven't been there since june. All I brought was a light spinning rod and some small spinners. I started off with a small nickel spinner but had no action. They weren't interested in a silver finish either like normal. It was sunny and the water was very clear so I opted for a copper blade mepps size one. After a couple casts I had a fairly good sized trout follow my spinner, but once it got about three feet from me it turned around and took off.

Someone had been feeding ducks earlier and left a few slices of bread floating around. Every once in a while, I would see one of the slices bob up and down on the surface. At first I thought a duck was just picking at it, but I watched for a while and it was actually a fish coming up to the surface and nibbling at it... never seen that before. Also, for the first time I put on my waders and walked out into the lake a little ways. I noticed that the bottom is just littered with dog crap that dog walkers just fling into the lake...pretty gross. Kinda ticks me off since flinging poo into a small lake is a pretty quick way to cause algae blooms and ruin the ecosystem.

Usually I can count on hidden lake as a slam dunk but way she goes

Wow shows how uninformed king county people are. The whole clean up after your dog thing is specifically to keep the nitrogen from the poop out of our water! Embarassing

I live near Hidden lake and have walked the trails to it many many times but I had no idea it actually had fish in it. I've never seen anything moving in the water except for the ducks and dogs let alone anyone fishing. The other day my husband went on a walk and ended up at the lake. He came home and told me he saw and talked to a guy fishing there. I was shocked! Guy told him he had caught a 12 inch trout there about a month ago but no luck that day. He was fishing with a worm and bobber. Guess I'll have to go check it out one of these days and take along some powerbait and see what happens.

I have caught several nice rainbows out of that lake on my fly rod. most of them about 16" according to my Measure net. I always catch and release there with the urban drainage
