Yet another case of "Couldnt sit home-itis"
Slept in the Morning and was restless so I loaded up the Boat and met my buddy at the boat ramp. Starting off in my favorite early season Kokanee spot we quickly marked a school at 30' and put our first fish in the boat, a healthy 13" Koke. After about 20 min of trying to find another school a top water rod hooked up and came unbuttoned on a very large fish, Im assuming it was a big trout. 45 minutes into the fishing trip the wind really kicked up and we decided to call it a day, turned toward the boat ramp and we were into a double and put 2 14" Kokanee in the boat. What a great way to end the day! All three fish had super full bellies and great looking meat.
Early season fish can be very hard to catch but I have been having a lot of fun these last few weeks, having multiple fish days and even a limit one afternoon. It is Shaping up to be another great Kokanee year on Lake Stevens and I look forward to Guiding for these awesome tasting and awesome fighting fish.
