I have been without a fishing trip since before Thanksgiving, so I took a couple guys from work out to Rock. I figured the fishing was going to be tough with the massive influx of water we have had. My suspicions were immediately confirmed when we puled in the parking lot and the water was only about a foot below the parking lot. On the positive side it was the easiest launching at Rock in my 10+ trips out there. 3 Trailers were already in the lot and one banker who hooked his first fish of the day right as we were shoving off. The water was high and muddy and there was a massive amount of logs branches and grass towards the north end. The little babbling brook that is now raging 50' across. Had a couple bumps of the DR' s but nothing stuck and the fish finder was only marking fish below 100' deep. We fished from 730 until 130 and covered the whole lake tried various types etc etc.... Saw 5 boats but never saw a net. They were working the edges, trolling and some were still fishing. Hopefully they had better luck. Give it a couple weeks and hopefully the water clear up and the normally great fishing on Rock wi be back to normal.
