The day started with a little snow falling in the morning but turned to a light rain by the time we got the boat in the water (10:30). The temperature stayed in the low-to-mid thrities and the rain remained light all day. The friend I brought with me like the comfort of bottom fishing so I never even rigged up for trolling. We bottom fished with orange gulp eggs in several spots (she doesn't have a lot of patience either). We pulled both of our limits of 12"-15" rainbows by 3:00. They were all pretty nice fish with a couple of fatties thrown in for good measure. Kitsap Lake has been on fire for me this Winter. As much as I'm looking forward to the other lakes opening in the Spring, I might miss the "easy" catch I've been having. If you've been missing fishing and can stand a little cold and/or wet I would make sure to get out on Kitsap Lake.

A pretty cool thing also happened Saturday. After my friend had bite she was reeling in to check her bait and had a big trout chase her bait all the way to jumping out of the water at the boat for it. I had not seen that before and she about jumped out of the boat.

Well good for you Ball and partner! I went out about 3 weeks ago and didn't get a single bite. I tried trolling for a while, throwing some spinners AND bottom fishing. I didn't use eggs but tried several different colors of PowerBait. What are you doing this Saturday? ;)

I already have plans for Saturday fishing. I'm taking my gal pal to either Spencer or Long Lake. I may actually have her convinced to spend some significant time trolling also. I would definitely hook up with you sometime though.
