So...my stubbornness has brought me back to this little pond in search for this crappie as soon as I got off work...I was off on my little adventure.
My last report, I did get a little cuttie.
I had little time to get my act together. I got to the water it was 4:45pm. The pond was as still as glass. I pushed my kayak off the shore and paddled just a few strokes to what seemed like a good spot to drop my jig. I grabbed my pole and saw it had snapped on my way pulling the yak thru the brush. Dang...oh well I could still pull one up.
my first jig was a small white hoochie. I got a couple bumps off of it...then nothing. So I changed to a cut rubber worm that I slipped onto a 1/16 oz jig...about 5:45 I got a nice bump and set the hook on my first ever crappie!
Woo woo the excitement of catching a new fish..my heart was thumpity thumping around and a big smile was on! Yayyy, I shook the skunk!
So stoked I stopped to show my friend Mike my fish...he wasn't working that day, bummer. Oh well, his coworker said to saute it in a pan with lots of fresh cut ginger...wow it was really good!
